Itinerary In Details
Day 1: Arrival in Arusha – Transfer to Tarangire National Park
Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by your professional safari guide and transferred to Tarangire National Park, which is approximately 2–3 hours’ drive from Arusha. Known for its majestic elephant herds, iconic baobab trees, and seasonal wildlife, Tarangire offers an exciting start to your safari. After settling in at your lodge or luxury tented camp, enjoy an afternoon game drive, spotting lions, giraffes, zebras, and a variety of bird species in their natural habitat. Dinner will be served at your lodge, and you will spend your first night immersed in the sights and sounds of the African wilderness. Meals for the day include lunch en route, dinner at the lodge, and overnight accommodation at a lodge or camp near Tarangire.
Day 2: Tarangire National Park – Full-Day Game Drive & Transfer to Lake Manyara
After an early breakfast at your lodge, embark on a full-day game drive in Tarangire National Park, where you will have the opportunity to spot a diverse array of wildlife, including predators and massive herds of elephants. Enjoy a picnic lunch inside the park while taking in the stunning savannah landscapes and abundant birdlife. In the late afternoon, drive to Lake Manyara National Park, famous for tree-climbing lions, hippos, and flamingos along the lake shores. Check in to your lodge or tented camp near the park for dinner and overnight stay. Meals for the day include breakfast at Tarangire lodge, picnic lunch during the game drive, and dinner at the lodge or camp.
Day 3: Ngorongoro Conservation Area – Crater Game Drive
Following breakfast, you will depart for the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, home to the legendary Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Descend into the crater for a full-day game drive, where you have the chance to spot the Big Five—lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhino—alongside hyenas, zebras, and wildebeest, all within one of Africa’s most dramatic volcanic landscapes. Stop for a picnic lunch in the crater while enjoying the breathtaking scenery. In the late afternoon, drive to your lodge or camp on the crater rim or nearby for dinner and overnight stay. Meals include breakfast at Lake Manyara lodge, picnic lunch in the crater, and dinner at the lodge or camp.
Day 4: Ngorongoro Highlands – Scenic Drive Back to Arusha & Departure
On your final day, enjoy breakfast at your lodge before a morning drive through the Ngorongoro Highlands, taking in the scenic landscapes and optionally stopping at local villages or markets for cultural experiences and photography. Afterward, continue your drive back to Arusha for transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your departure. Meals for the day include breakfast at your lodge and lunch en route.
